The Life

In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

John 1:4

If a person wants to give someone else a dollar, they need to first possess a dollar. This shows that life can’t come unless someone first possess life to give it. God Created the heavens and the earth and then gave life to all living creatures, specifically through the channel of Jesus Christ. There is life because in God is life. God first possessed life, and has taken it upon Himself to share the life that He has. The Bible describes the quality of God’s life as “light,” referring to His glory, wisdom, provision, and protection. This quality of life uniquely comes from God since He alone possesses these attributes of it.
