The Roots Of Goodness
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed [it was] very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Why is God right? Why is God the standard of what is truly “good?” He is the Creator of all things, and as such, has the privilege to determine the standards of what is right and wrong, good and bad. When God finished His creation, He declared that it was “very good,” referring to its perfection. Who was there to argue with God to prove Him wrong? The effect of God’s Word is perfect. The functionality and fulfillment of God’s Word is good and right. This concept introduces God’s identity as “the Root,” since He is the chief and supreme authority, and source of all wisdom to know and declare that which is genuinely “very good.”
