Revelation Through Faith
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference…
The prophets wrote about God’s righteousness in order to expose the flaws in human nature, thereby pointing back to God as our Savior from His judgments. They had many titles to describe the form in which God would come to save His people from sin. One of those names was “the Branch,” referring to the way we connect to God’s righteousness, not having any of our own. The Apostle Paul wrote that, Jesus is “the Branch.” Jesus is the display of God’s righteousness in flesh. God declared His perfect standards in the Law of Moses, but Jesus came and fulfilled it all to perfection on our behalf, making faith in these truths, the means by which we gain His approval.
