Perfect From The Beginning
And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
2 John 1:5-6
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. When God set the standards for “good” in the beginning, He didn’t change them because we corrupted His goodness. His goodness remained pure, proved by the fact that God doesn’t change or adjust to our circumstances. The Apostle John wrote that, “God is love” in his first epistle. In his second epistle, he encouraged a woman to continue in that which was from the beginning. God as “love,” wasn’t broke. God’s righteous standards weren’t broke. God has been perfect since the beginning, showing that we should abide in Him as the root of goodness, rather than seeking new ways to improve things that we can’t improve.
