Open Eyes

“I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house.”

Isaiah 42:6-7

Our inability to please God is manifested through our ignorance of things pertaining to God. We are spiritually blind; proved by our inability to see God and clearly recognize His works. We are in spiritual bondage; evidenced by the pain we cause when trying to do good. We are in spiritual darkness; shown by the lack of direction and fulfillment we have. Thankfully, God provided a solution. The Father promised His Messiah, Jesus Christ, would open our eyes, set us free, and deliver us from darkness. Jesus did physical miracles like this, to prove His ability to work spiritually, providing the only true form of completeness and wholeness according to the eternally unconditional promise of the Father.
