Becoming Righteous
For He made Him who knew no sin [to be] sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
We as God’s people, are not made righteous when we’re saved. We are declared righteous on account of faith that we have in the testimony of Jesus. Jesus must have exceptional authority in order to make such declarations that will be honored come judgment time. The Apostle Paul wrote that the Father sent Jesus as God in flesh, proved by the fact that He had no sin. Still, Jesus died the death we as sinners deserve, becoming our sin while remaining perfect! Who but God could do such a thing? Our approval through Jesus is assured, because He is the One who sets AND fulfills the standard of perfection as our Branch to the Father.
