Getting To Know God
His Name Is...
The LORD Our Peace - The Prince Of Peace - The Just Judge - The Praise Of God - The Perfection Of God
Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “‘Blessed [is] the King who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
The concept of salvation proposes the idea of a threat. The Bible teaches that the benefit of salvation is eternal life, which means that the threat salvation addresses, is death, which is caused by sin. Psalm 118 teaches that God is the means by which we are saved, since His mercy endures forever. Jesus was the fulfillment of Psalm 118. Jesus came as God in flesh, and the people praised Him on the day of His Triumphal Entry, because they recognized in that moment, that the peace of God was near. At the end of that week, Jesus was crucified, fulfilling the Father’s judgment against sin, providing the peace of salvation that was previously promised.
