His Promise, His Work, His Obedience

“My covenant was with him, [one] of life and peace, and I gave them to him [that he might] fear [Me]; so he feared Me and was reverent before My name.”

Malachi 2:5

The Bible commands the people of God to fear and exalt His name. According to the Bible, our obedience to this command is only made possible through the peace that God provides. God made a covenant with Israel and the world to provide peace with Him through the forgiveness of sins. Jesus’ crucifixion as the Prince of Peace, was reflective of His judgment upon sin, on our behalf. Since sin has been judged, we who believe can have peace with the Father, and thereby, fellowship with Him. It’s this fellowship through Jesus that enables us to fear God, exalt God, and praise Him unto His glory.
