Getting To Know God
His Name Is...
The LORD Of Hosts - The ANGEL Of The LORD - The Fear Of God - The Providential Sovereignty Of God
Who Is The LORD Of Hosts?
Then the Angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying, "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here. ' "
The scriptures show that Jesus’ authority is equal to God’s. The Old Testament mentions “the Angel of the LORD” fifty-nine times in the Bible. Each of those references shows a human figure exercising and administrating the glory, authority, control, and wisdom of God, who is “the LORD of hosts.” In Zechariah’s vision, the Angel of the LORD clearly referred to Himself as “the LORD of hosts,” showing that they are one in the same. Since Jesus is the only Biblical figure that, as a man, has the power, authority, wisdom, and righteous control of God, then He and the Angel of the LORD must be the same, also making Jesus “the LORD of hosts!”
