Getting To Know God
His Name Is...
The LORD Of Hosts - The ANGEL Of The LORD - The Fear Of God - The Providential Sovereignty Of God
Armies Of The Universe
Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
One of the most common references of God in the Bible, is His title, “the LORD of hosts.” He is the LORD of “armies.” Yet, it’s critical to remember the transcendent nature of God. He is not just the God of people, but the Creator of the universe! Therefore, He’s able to use anything and everything in heaven and earth as His soldier. The testimony of Genesis refers to the heavens, the earth, and everything in them, as “all the hosts.” If God is the LORD of hosts, then everything in heaven, earth, and beneath the earth is subject to God. Everything is under His administration, control, and command as obedient soldiers following orders.
