Arise!

Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried [him] stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.

Luke 7:14-15

Jesus’ authority as the LORD of hosts doesn’t just account for spiritual and physical armies. Jesus has control over all other authorities and enemies. What greater enemy of mankind is there, than death? Is there a greater soldier than death, who has taken captive every person since the days of Adam and Eve? Still, Jesus showed that He has authority over death too, so that death is subject to His control. Jesus demonstrated the extent of His control by commanding death to give up one of its captives, commanding a young boy’s soul to return to his body. As the Gospel of Luke testifies, Jesus’ supreme control and authority was proven true!
