It Shall Be Done...
“For the day of the LORD upon all the nations [is] near; as you have done, it shall be done to you; your reprisal shall return upon your own head.”
When Jesus taught His disciples, He told them that the world would hate them, for His namesake; but He assured them victory. How could Jesus speak so confidently? The Old Testament shows that Jesus came into the world as “the Angel of the LORD.” Jesus proved He and the LORD of hosts, were one in the same. In Obadiah, God spoke about judgment against Edom, on account of their denial and evil against Israel. He assured Edom would be judged by foreign nations, because He is in control of “all nations.” Therefore, Jesus can promise deliverance to His people, because He’s in control of “the nations,” equipping victory no matter the odds.
