Command Over The Unclean

Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine [is] this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.”

Mark 1:27

Jesus definitively proved that He had equal authority to the Father, the LORD of hosts. Jesus didn’t just make claims, but gave visible and tangible proof of His transcendent wisdom, power, and control over all factors – especially spiritual ones. When Jesus healed the multitudes, He also cast out many demons from people. The crowds watched Jesus speak to dark legions and soldiers of Satan, commanding them to obey His Word. The people were astonished that He addressed demons, and that they responded to His commands with fear and obedience! Who but God has charge over the armies of the world AND the underworld?
