Proof On The Third Day

Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight. Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter [and] former rain to the earth.

Hosea 6:1-3

Since God is holy and righteous, He must judge sin. However, God’s wisdom is so great that He’s able to use the judgments of evil to produce transformation, restoration, life, and glory! The children of Israel are God’s proof to the world of this reality. Many times in their history, Israel denied God, causing Him to bring brutal punishments. God was also faithful to preserve a faithful remnant, heal the nation, and bring restoration to prove the extent of His power to mend, revive, and restore. The prophet Hosea alluded to God’s full healing, revival and restoration: The resurrection, as evidenced by Jesus’ own resurrection on the third day. Just like the rain comes to heal the dryness of the land, and brining life, God came into the world as the water of life, healing spiritual dryness, evidenced by the Resurrection.
