Just Sleeping

He said to them, "Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping." And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

Matthew 9:24-25

When sin entered the world, a mess of trouble came with it. God swore to fix the issue on our behalf and proved He was trustworthy to that promise. God revealed Himself as Healer to show that He has the wisdom required to deal with physical and spiritual issues of corruption, decay, and death. Jesus healed to prove the same point, raising a little girl from the dead to prove He is God. He proved to have God’s wisdom, knowing how to speak to the girl’s soul. Jesus proved He had the authority to command her soul back to her body. Jesus proved to be the Rock of salvation by transforming the bitterness of death into the sweetness of life.
