Healing For The Outcasts

The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.

Psalm 147:2-4

One of the most profound works of healing God has ever performed is the restorative work He’s done for Israel. This work is ongoing, but history shows that God is able to bring healing in ways that affect entire nations! God judged His people for disobedience, but through those judgments, showed great wisdom to preserve a faithful remnant and bring healing through that remnant. God used Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, and others to judge Israel, but each time brought healing. What rock is so sturdy and trustworthy as a foundation? What doctor can mend nations? What person binds up like the LORD of Jerusalem, Jesus, the Messiah?
