The goodness of God is expressed by the work that He does to provide peace between His people and Himself. Just because God has called people to be His children, doesn’t mean that His children are worthy of the calling. The scriptures proclaim that all fall short of the glory of God – even God’s children. Therefore, we as God’s people, need peace with Him too. We need forgiveness for living as an offense to God. Knowing this, God offered peace through Jesus. Jesus distributed that peace as our Great Shepherd. We all, like sheep, have gone astray. Jesus came in His greatness, proved by His resurrection, to restore us to life.
