The Beloved

[The Beloved]: If you do not know, O fairest among women, follow in the footsteps of the flock, and feed your little goats beside the shepherds' tents.

Song Of Solomon 1:8

The Song of Solomon is an amazing poetic prophetic picture of the relationship the Father desires to have with His people through Jesus. The LORD used the testimony of “the beloved” to illustrate His will for His people. He considers His “beloved” to be the fairest among all others, even though He sees us as sheep. Though God sees us as sheep, He wants to fulfill the role of a Shepherd, inviting His sheep to the door of His tent, to rest and have fellowship with Him. The LORD desires His sheep to follow in the footsteps of other sheep that have received the benefits of His promises, confirming the magnitude of His mercy and goodness.
