Getting To Know God
His Name Is...
The LORD Who Sanctifies - The Tabernacle - The Worship Of God - The Holiness Of God
Separated For Sacrifice
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
When God revealed His identity as Sanctifier to Israel, that revelation came with a command: Be holy because He is holy. We’re to be affected by His holiness, conformed into His likeness, due to the connection He enables with us. Our worship to God is dependent on obedience to this command. We’re to be “living sacrifices:” dead to our flesh and selfish ambitions. This is our service to the Lord, equal to the worship that the priests used to conduct in the tabernacle and temple. Our worship requires us to die to self, in order to live according to the sanctification God does to separate us from our flesh, and the corruption of this world.
