Getting To Know God
His Name Is...
The LORD Who Sanctifies - The Tabernacle - The Worship Of God - The Holiness Of God
Dwelling With Us?
"And now, O LORD God of Israel, let Your word come true, which You have spoken to Your servant David. "But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!"
2 Chronicles 6:17-18
When Solomon dedicated the temple, he asked a question that seemed so hard to believe: Will God dwell with men on earth? The temple was built to replace the tabernacle, and God’s presence filled it up to where the people couldn’t stay inside of it! It was clear that God’s holy presence was too much to bear. Yet, God answered Solomon’s question through John 1:14. Jesus, the Word of God, became flesh, and dwelt among us. God took the form of flesh to do the work required to sanctify His people. He died in order to separate us from sin, showing that His holiness was too much for heaven, the temple, and the grave to contain!
