Separated From Uncleanness

Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let [us] alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!”

Mark 1:23-24

God promised to consecrate and separate His people from sin, death, and hell, enabling us to worship Him, by His “Holy One of Israel.” God’s promise of the Holy One is given thirty-seven times in the Old Testament! When Jesus came, it wasn’t His people that recognized Him as the Holy One the Father promised – it was demons! Unclean spirits saw Jesus and knew He was the Promised One of the Father, sent to purge sin from His people. The demons were terrified, and rightly so! The unclean spirits knew that God was doing away with all uncleanness, purifying His people unto worship. That was bad news for them – GREAT new for us!
