Separated From Hades

“Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.”

Acts 2:30-31

The preachers, teachers, and followers of Jesus Christ proclaimed that He was the fulfillment of the Father’s promise of “the Holy One.” They taught that Jesus was the fulfillment of the promise for God to visit His people, and cleanse from sin and corruption. How do we know they were right? They pointed to the resurrection of Jesus as proof. Psalm 16:10 said that the Father would not let the Holy One see corruption. Jesus raised from the dead on the third day, escaping the corruption of death, thereby fulfilling the prophecy that David wrote. Since He is free from corruption, He is uniquely qualified to purify according to the Father’s promise.
