Getting To Know God
His Name Is...
The LORD Who Provides - The Promised SEED - The Grace of God - The Intercession Of God
The Director's Cut
“And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it [shall be] with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined.”
When God promised to deal with the judgment of sin on behalf of humanity, He explained that “the Seed” would be bruised so that the head of the serpent could be crushed. This referred to the crucifixion of Jesus, which provided atonement for those who believe. It was Jesus’ sacrifice that served to be suitable to the Father because Jesus is the Only Begotten Son and Messiah King – God in flesh; the fulfillment of the Father’s covenants. God made it clear that Jesus’ death was not for His own faults. His intervention is infinitely gracious because He was “cut off” on our behalf at the right time, the right way, to produce the right results.
