Freedom Provided
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Hebrews 2:14-15

Jesus said that those who sin are slaves to sin. Yet, His intercession as “the Seed,” the suitable sacrifice, and the King, reflected God exercising His power, grace, and authority to deal with sin and its effects on us. Jesus died because the wages of sin is death. Since He’s God in flesh, His blood is eternally valuable to pay any and all debt that sin might accrue. For this reason, the effect of sin is rendered powerless against those declared to be children of God. The bondage that the devil and sin had over us, is no longer effective because of the Father’s promises that were fulfilled by Jesus on our behalf.
