For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
2 Timothy 1:12

It’s hard to walk by faith and not by sight. So much of our decision-making is based on what we see. The Bible teaches that we shouldn’t do that because God is Almighty. When the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, he was in prison awaiting death. That reality didn’t depress Paul. Things appeared to be dismal, but Paul was a child of God. Though Paul could not see his eternal inheritance, he trusted in the power of God to overcome the appearance of his trials. Whether in prison or free, Paul knew God was everywhere at all times, making His promises sure. Our circumstances have no bearing on God’s ability to fulfill His promises.
