Getting To Know God

The Most High God - Melchizedek The Great High Priest - The Goodness of God - The Preeminent Transcendence of God
Goodness In The Mist
"Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace [and] spoke, saying, "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come [here]." Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.
There is great cost involved when living for the Lord. In the case of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, they were to be executed because they would not follow the idolatrous culture they lived in. However, the Most High God proved that His goodness was more superior than the threats of men. When God’s people were thrown into the fiery furnace, He preserved them. Based on eyewitness accounts, God saved them by abiding with them in the fire, but appearing as “the Son of God.” This proves that God’s supreme goodness is greater than physical threats, and comes by our relationship to Jesus, the Son of God, God in flesh!
