Getting To Know God
His name is...
The Omnipotent God - The LION of Judah - The Power of God - The Omnipresence of God
“For I [will be] like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, [even] I, will tear [them] and go away; I will take [them] away, and no one shall rescue. I will return again to My place till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; in their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”
When a lion tears up its prey, there is nothing constructive about it. Watching a lion kill its prey is violent and brutal. Listening to a lion eat is miserable and gross. When the lion is done eating, the prey is left as nothing. That’s power! God’s judgment is powerful like a lion. His judgments are not pretty. No one can undo the work of God’s judgments and the finality of it. Yet, God’s judgments as the Lion of Judah actually produce a fruitful outcome. God’s judgments are powerful to cause His people to turn to Him in fear, repentance, and faith, in order to receive His blessings. If not for the judgments of God, we’d never seek Him.
