How Did He Do That?
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
One of the words that God uses to describe Himself is “wonderful.” This description refers to the fact that God is “full of wonder.” In other words, He is hard to understand! The first verse in the Bible makes that clear. The English word for God is “Elohim,” which refers to two parts of God’s identity: His triune nature as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the supreme majesty that He holds because of who He is. The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit were equal participants in the creation of the heavens and the earth. How does this work? The truth of the matter is, God is who God is because He’s so much of what we aren’t.
