The Deep Things Of God

But God has revealed [them] to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

1 Corinthians 2:10

When God described His attributes as the Messiah in Isaiah 9:6, He began with the title “Wonderful,” which means, “difficult to understand.” How then do we come to understand who God is, what He’s all about, and how He works? How do we know God’s true purposes and promises if His thoughts are so far from our natural way of thinking? The Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of those who believe, in order to give understanding of the things God reveals. Since the Spirit is God, He knows all of the mysterious and deep things of Him. Is there a better place to receive God’s communication than from within our own heart?
