The Unchanging Greatness Of God
The Faithful Light IN The Sky
“The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that [is] on the earth.”
- Genesis 9:16
The unchanging nature of God is perhaps one of His most important qualities. If God is able to change, then His promises are subject to change also. That’s not good. God has connected His promises to certain standards that we can observe, to prove His integrity to us. God promised He would never judge the world again by a global flood. The rainbow is God’s proof. The Bible teaches that the rainbow is a symbol of God’s glory. The testimonies of God’s eternal throne show that He is encompassed by spectrum of colors like a rainbow. The eternal glory of God’s throne was seen as a rainbow, highly exalted above all creation. THAT’s what the rainbow symbolizes. In this way, the constant appearances of rainbows in the sky around the world, shows that God’s greatness has not changed. So, His ability to keep His promises remains intact too!
Eternally Established
“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.”
- Genesis 17:7
God’s greatness is immeasurable, but God makes promises in certain ways aimed at teaching us about the magnitude of His greatness. If not for these promises, we wouldn’t be able to understand who God is. God made a covenant with Abraham and swore to keep that promise forever. This means that God’s Word must be eternal like God Himself is eternal. If God will fulfill things in the future that He promised to Abraham long ago, His Word cannot change over time in any way, no matter the factors. Consider the greatness of God, that even though so many things have changed over time, those changes haven’t had any effect on God or His Word! This truth about God makes His promises to Abraham, Israel, and the world, the surest thing ever. There is nothing more established; there is nothing surer, than the Word of God!
The Greatness Of God's Promise
“Then [Abraham] planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there called on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.”
- Genesis 21:33
Sometimes things happen that make it seem like God isn’t going to do what He said. When Abraham saw that people filled up some wells that he dug, the promise God made for a land inheritance probably seemed like an impossible feat. Abraham got a piece of land, but people that surrounded him were frustrating the situation. Abraham couldn’t even keep his wells intact. How was he supposed to get the rest of the land that God promised? God addressed the issue. The wells were returned and restored, obviously by means that were greater than Abraham’s ability, but easy for God. Abraham’s hope was also restored. He saw that God’s greatness doesn’t change with circumstances. God will ALWAYS do what He says, no matter how much time passes, or how things look from our perspective. So, Abraham called God El Olam – The Everlasting God.
The Great Cleansing
“This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.” And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
- Leviticus 16:34
God is eternally unchanging, so His Word must be eternally unchanging too. God’s commands for animal sacrifice were never the way that He intended for people to be cleansed from sin and saved from the eternal consequences of it. The sacrifices were intended to teach about God’s greatness. According to God’s supreme standards of righteousness, sins can’t be forgiven without the shedding of blood. He told the human race from the beginning – The wages of sin, is death. The number of animals slaughtered, showed the magnitude of sin that had to be dealt with. If animal sacrifice couldn’t address spiritual issues, even with the volumes of animals that were slaughtered, who but God is able to offer a sacrifice to make atonement for ALL sin? Only God is able, which He did, when He came as Jesus Christ! Even though He was a man, Jesus is also God, which makes His blood eternally valuable to pay the debt of ALL sin! God commanded the animal sacrifices to show that, no matter how much we offer to God, we can’t fix the sin issue. God also commanded the animal sacrifices to show how great His sacrifice would be, when Jesus came to offer Himself on our behalf.
The True G.O.A.T.
“For the LORD your God [is] God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.”
- Deuteronomy 10:17
The term “G.O.A.T.” has become an acronym for, “Greatest Of All Time.” However, this is a flawed statement. A person might be the greatest at something at one point in time, but they diminish over time. People are always being outdone by others, some way, eventually. God on the other hand is eternally unchanging in greatness. The LORD is YAHWEH – the Creator of all things. He is superior to all authority figures. He is totally unaffected by the influence or ability of others, since He is the One that makes all things come to pass. He isn’t just the greatest of all time, but He is the greatest at all points in time, all at once, and that will never change! Human history has tried to exalt people to god-like status. They don’t even come close to the Great God of Israel, who alone is awesome and mighty. Then, to prove the transcendence of His power, He came into the world to show that, as the true G.O.A.T., He is also the Lamb…
Forever Protector
“The eternal God [is your] refuge, and underneath [are] the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’”
- Deuteronomy 33:27
Why can God be trusted to protect us from the real matters of life? Lots of people make promises they don’t keep, even though they might have tried. Why is God different? First, God is eternal. He is not governed by, or tied to the factors of this life such as time, corruption, and decay. Second, He is eternally great. His arms are big enough to hold us all up from the dangers that lurk beneath. Lastly, His Word is supremely great and unchanging in power. When He says something, it happens. It might take longer than we like, but that’s how it goes since God is working on a timeline set in eternity. So, when He says “destroy” to the things that threaten our relationship with Him, the threat is eliminated. Who but God can protect this way?
Stuck In his Ways
Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies and Your loving kindnesses, for they [are] from of old.
- Psalm 25:6
One of the fears that often comes into our minds is, which sin will be the last straw for God, that causes Him to condemn us to hell? We make so many mistakes. Which one is, “THE one?” This sort of thinking is why it’s so important to know God’s eternally unchanging nature. The LORD is YAHWEH. The LORD is El Olam. He is not affected or influenced by anything around Him. As He was in the past, He is today, and will be forever. Sure, God’s greatness is shown in His power to create and destroy. But His power is also manifested in the endurance of His mercy and patience. His ability to wait LONG times for the effects of His work to take place in our lives, is unparalleled! This truth doesn’t give us a license to continue in sin so that grace can abound. We need to repent. Yet, we also have to know that, our mistakes don’t change God’s nature.
Seniority
The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne [is] established from of old; You [are] from everlasting.
- Psalm 93:1-2
With all of the accomplishments that the human race has achieved, there are simply some things that people can’t do. For example, the earth is fixed in its place. We can’t move it. We can’t move the sun, moon, or a single star. God has established these things. He designed these things, created them by the power of His Word, set them in place with His fingers, and they’ve remained since the beginning. No one is changing that. The time that the sun, moon, stars, and earth have remained, speaks to God’s greatness, and the span of it! This is why God is in charge. This is why the LORD reigns. Everything is the way it has been, because no one can meddle with the things God has proclaimed by His Word. God is eternally great, simply because nothing ever has, nor ever will, match His authority and strength.
Seniority
O LORD, You [are] my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful [things]; [Your] counsels of old [are] faithfulness [and] truth.
- Isaiah 25:1
Human wisdom changes over time. We learn new things all the time, showing that our current understanding is often flawed. Things will inevitably change tomorrow. The good counsel we give today might be bad tomorrow based on our limited understanding of life circumstances and all the variables that come with them. God doesn’t have this problem. His Word is just as good today as it was when He said, “Let there be light.” Though His counsel is “from old,” His eternal nature ensures that the quality of His Word is unchanging, no matter the volumes of variables we have to deal with. God is the only One that knows about all of them. This is why we should praise God! Who else but God knows this much, and is this perfect? While time proves how little we know as people, time has proved that God’s Word is ONLY faithful and true. Not only is God perfect in the greatness of His wisdom, but it’s also a privilege that He’s made His Word known to us, even though we’ve proved to be so flawed.
HE Swore To God
I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath.
- Isaiah 45:23
Many people have foolishly said, “I swear to God.” This is profaning the name of God. In God’s eyes, we are using the greatness of God to make up for the doubts people have in us. We are not supposed to bring God down to our level this way! The greatness of God is so supreme that He swore upon Himself to make this point. God’s greatness is eternally unchanging so that every knee and tongue – past, present, and future – will submit to Him when He’s fulfilled His purposes concerning sin. God proclaimed it. It will come to pass. Since God swore upon His own eternally-unchanging-great name, we can rest assured that God won’t change His mind. His authority to carry this out won’t grow weak. EVERY knee will bow to Him, one way or another. Best to submit to Him now in repentance, rather than later in judgment.
In Spite Of Issues
“With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the LORD, your Redeemer.
- Isaiah 54:8
People have imperfections and issues that are offensive to God. Since God is righteous, He has to address these things. However, God is also merciful so that He doesn’t punish us to the degree that we deserve. Equally as important, God is unchanging, meaning that the extent of our sin doesn’t cause God’s mercy to go away. God judged Israel by “hiding His face” for a moment. Yet, God’s eternally unchanging nature preserved Israel as a whole. God’s judgment was permanent for many Jewish individuals, but the integrity of God’s promises to Israel as a whole, were unaffected, showing the true greatness of God as Redeemer. The LORD is righteous to judge sin, but since He is eternally great, He’s also able to ensure the preservation of His unchanging promises to those that seek His mercy. The LORD will deal with the rebellion of Israel, but not at the expense of His eternally unconditional covenants with them. Likewise, the LORD will deal with our issues, but not at the overall expense of our souls, so long as we seek His mercy in repentance. The eternal nature of God’s work and promise is always in His focus.
Transformation
Guaranteed!
“And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.”
- Jeremiah 32:40
Israel was the people God selected to be His special treasure. They also constantly rejected God. Scripture compares Israel to an adulterous wife cheating on God. Would God discard Israel for unfaithfulness? Here, in the crux of God’s New Covenant promises, He assured Israel that His pledge to them was eternally unchanging. Is God unchanging if He changes His mind about Israel? If He changes His mind about Israel, what’s to keep Him from changing His mind about the rest of us? God’s promises are not dependent on our ability to be faithful. His promises are dependent on His eternally unchanging greatness, to change OUR hearts to be conformed with HIS, through faith He provides in fearful-repentance.
Sticking To HIs Word
“For I [am] the LORD. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it,” says the Lord GOD.
- Ezekiel 12:25
Many people talk about doing things that never get done. God doesn’t work this way. Everything God says comes to pass 100% of the time. However, it is important to remember that God is eternal in nature, making His Word eternal just the same. This means that the fulfillment of His Word might take time. He is not bound by our calendar or schedule. Still, what God says gets done! No matter how much time passes, God doesn’t change, so He never loses focus or ability to do what He says. He doesn’t forget. He doesn’t grow weak. Therefore, His promises are guaranteed, whether concerning blessing or judgment. When God addressed Israel through the prophet Ezekiel, they had been hearing about judgment for a long time. That judgment came when Babylon destroyed them. However, when God warned Israel about that judgment, He also promised their restoration. That restoration came also! God is going to fulfill His promises to Israel and the rest of the world, exactly like He said, no matter how long we think it’s taking.
The Peace Treaty
“Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.”
- Ezekiel 37:26
When a promise contains the word “forever,” there is only One that is able to meet those terms in a literal way. God alone is eternal. With that said, it is important to recognize that all of His promises are made under the umbrella of “forever.” The essence of God’s blessings is also eternal in nature. God promised Israel that He would be in their presence “forevermore.” Only a God unaffected by time, corruption, and human influence is able to keep such a promise. God’s promise of peace to Israel will be fulfilled in a physically tangible way, but in an eternal capacity that can only be manifested by the Creator of all things, apart from human influence. God will dwell with Israel, and bless all of the families of the earth through them. He’ll come as the King that He promised – Jesus Christ. When He comes back, He’ll come to bring peace and establish His righteousness here on earth forever; and His resurrection proves that He’s the only One that can make and fulfill such a promise. For those looking for peace in the world – this is the ONLY way it comes…
The Same One
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, [though] you are little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth [are] from of old, from everlasting.”
- Micah 5:2
God’s promise of redemption from sin, death, and hell are based on His eternally unchanging nature. If God changes, Jesus can’t be the Savior since He appeared in a different form from the Father. Did Jesus’ appearance have anything to do with His nature? The Father said One would be born in Bethlehem as the Ruler of Israel. God’s promise of the Messiah’s birth in Bethlehem referred to His own incarnation. This is why He said that the Ruler would be “from old, from everlasting,” referring to His own eternal nature. Who but God has an eternal nature? Who but Jesus, born in Bethlehem, proved His eternal nature by raising Himself from the dead? The means by which ALL of the Father’s eternally unconditional promises are fulfilled, is through the One born in Bethlehem according to this prophecy – the Ruler and King of Israel, Jesus Christ. He might have looked different than our idea of God, but His historically-verified testimony proves that He was CERTAINLY the One scriptures foretold about!
Since The Beginning
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
- John 1:1-2
As the Creator, God came before all things. However, while God is one God, He was not the only “one” around at the beginning. According to the testimony of the Apostle John “He” was also in the beginning with God, before creation. This means that, as God the Father is eternal in nature, so too is “He.” The Bible teaches that “He” refers to the Word. The personification of God’s Word as “He,” is not simply poetic language. The Word of God is functional as a man. As God in a different form from the Father, He has also been eternally unchanging with the Father, before the worlds were formed. John was referring to Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ is the revelation of the truth and facts about God, as God in flesh, and has existed as the Truth, forever – literally! What form of greatness compares to this?
New Package,
Same Substance
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
- John 1:14
The manner in which the One True Living God makes Himself known is helpful to understanding just how great He is. He has appeared in different ways throughout the Bible, but God’s essence never changes. His appearance doesn’t affect His spiritual DNA. It’s important to recognize God’s greatness as He changes forms, but maintains the same nature. According to the eyewitness testimony of the Apostle John, the Word of God, the truth and facts of God’s nature, identity, character, attributes, integrity, purposes, and promises, took the form of flesh and was called Jesus of Nazareth. The Father’s purposes and promises took shape as a man, so that they could be fulfilled properly, and people saw His unique glory, grace, and truth in Jesus as the “Son of God,” which really describes Jesus as God-in-flesh.
Kung-Fu Grip!
“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
- John 10:28
God cannot give what He doesn’t first possess. His promises are based on His nature. He is the eternally unchanging Creator of all things, meaning that all things are His to give. Jesus was able to promise eternal life, because He is God in flesh. As God in flesh, He is able to give life according to His own eternal nature. Jesus assured us that His greatness is not only expressed in His ability to give everlasting life, but in His ability to keep us in His hand, no matter what! Our blessings from God are NOT based on our success or failure, but instead on the unchanging greatness of God to keep us within the folds of His own eternal essence, by the almighty hand of Jesus Christ. We get eternal life because of God’s power in Jesus. We keep eternal life in spite of our failures, because of God’s power in Jesus.
This Is Eternal Life...
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
- John 17:3
We don’t need to be dead to enjoy enteral life. If we’re willing to humbly seek God now, we can enjoy many of the benefits of eternal life right now! According to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of eternal life, this gift is simply the “knowledge” of the eternal God. The more we know God, the deeper into eternity we dwell, regardless of our physical position or circumstances. We come to know God by His Word, and faith in the truth of it. The knowledge of God through the testimony of His Word, focused on the person of Jesus, forges an intimate relationship with Him. Knowing the truth about Him, makes us “one” with Him. This means that Jesus is proof that eternal life can functionally exist in this life. This is the essence of God’s unchanging greatness: He is able to manifest His eternal qualities through our lives when we die to “self,” in order to know Him according to His Word, unto our blessing that satisfies the soul. Neither difficulty of circumstances, or death can hinder or stop that process. Jesus’ resurrection proves it.
Just Like He Said
"…But now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith-- to God, alone wise, [be] glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen."
- Romans 16:26-27
Though time makes it seem as if things change, the Bible teaches that God remains constant. His plans in the beginning are the same today, and will be the same in the end. The works that God accomplishes in the end will be according to the things He’s said all along. God spoke through “the prophetic Scriptures” that His purposes would be fulfilled by Jesus, the Messiah of Israel. Despite all of the issues in world throughout history, God’s prophecies were fulfilled as written, through Jesus – and continue to be fulfilled today. This shows that time has no effect on the Everlasting God, to do what He said according to the greatness of His wisdom, and glory seen in Jesus. If we have faith, this is why. His everlasting greatness, is revealed in Jesus to us, for obedience; to produce faith that equips us FOR obedience, while also producing more faith BY that very obedience. The prophetic Word of God is the source of all this ability, which means that, if you’re not pursuing the LORD by the “prophetic Scripture,” there is going to be lacking…
Great Mystery
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden [wisdom] which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
- 1 Corinthians 2:7-8
God’s greatness is so incomprehensive that we can’t even know Him unless He makes special efforts to make Himself known! The Apostle Paul wrote that the wisdom of God used to be “hidden.” It was the revelation of God’s glory through Jesus, especially by His crucifixion and resurrection, that made the revelation of God, and His eternal purposes, freely accessible. Without Jesus as God-in-flesh, the eternally awesome God would remain a mystery in many ways. The mystery of God’s greatness is revealed through the work He did as Jesus. God changed forms in order to reveal Himself to us as Jesus, without changing or compromising His eternally-glorious essence, even in His death! Unless we’re willing to accept these Biblical truths, we’ll never know the real truth about God.
Exceedingly Abundantly
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
- Ephesians 3:20-21
God’s greatness is in the Word. Long ago, God promised to restore corrupted souls to Himself by conforming His people to Himself in the likeness of Christ (Jesus, the Messiah King of Israel). This is a miraculous transformation only God can do. This is an “exceedingly abundantly-great” work; FAR greater than we can imagine! This is a work that God has done since the beginning, showing that time or circumstances don’t affect His ability to manifest His glory. God’s greatness is seen in His ability to do what He declared in His Word, no matter the situation, or the condition of the people He uses. Jesus was the glory of God the Father before, and the changed lives of His TRUE followers prove that He is STILL the glory of God the Father today, and will be forever!
Power Source
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
- Colossians 1:17
The concept of time teaches that everything governed by time has a beginning. When time starts, a clock starts. Every clock starts at 0-seconds. Jesus is eternal. He is outside of time. He has no beginning. No matter how much time elapses, He is unaffected by time or the things that transpire in time. The clock moves forward BECAUSE Jesus is the battery that moves time, and makes all things function within it! Time doesn’t change Jesus. Jesus changes time. Since He is “before all things,” He controls all things without anything affecting Him. If we desire a change in “the times,” Jesus alone has the greatness to do so.
True Greatness
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, [be] honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
- 1 Timothy 1:17
The Bible describes the characteristics of true greatness by describing God Himself. God is eternal in nature, which makes Him supreme in power and authority. Many kings have come and gone throughout history. God has ALWAYS been the King eternal – He hasn’t gone anywhere. God is immortal, referring to the fact that He’ll never change. He doesn’t experience decay or corruption of any kind. His supreme authority and greatness as The King doesn’t deplete, so He’ll NEVER lose authority or greatness. Wisdom comes from God, and that doesn’t change either. God is filled with glory and honor, and that doesn’t change. THIS is what true greatness is! Who can compare to Jesus? This is why our lives should be centered on giving Him the honor and glory He deserves, rather than seeking if for ourselves.
All By Himself
…Who being the brightness of [His] glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…
- Hebrews 1:3
How do we know Jesus is God? Examine His credentials. Jesus is called the brightness of God’s glory. We are able to know God is glorious because of Jesus’ purity that was physically seen by eyewitnesses. Jesus is the express image of God’s person – the only true visible form of God, in flesh. Again, this was confirmed by eyewitnesses, and historically documented in the text we call, the Bible. All things are held together by the power of Jesus’ Word. The value of Jesus’ authority and power was validated when witnesses saw Him sit down at the right hand of the Father; and this is AFTER these same people watched Him die, and then spent time with Him after He resurrected Himself from the dead. When Jesus spoke with authority, Jewish religious leaders asked, “Who but God can forgive sins?” Yet, Jesus purged sin all by Himself – in spite of us; not because we deserved it. Though Jesus looked like a man, His appearance never changed His nature, power, or authority as God, to do what He promised to do, since the beginning.
The Calling
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle [you]. To Him [be] the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
- 1 Peter 5:10-11
The greatness of God is communicated in the greatness of His calling. God called people, and by the nature of that calling, flawed and corrupted people are conformed to the likeness of His eternally-unchanging glory! That is a POWERFUL call! This “calling” was not just a verbal proclamation. The verbal proclamation of God was made physically manifest through the life of Jesus. In other words, Jesus’ testimony shows the verbal calling that the Father made, from His eternal dwelling. No matter the time and circumstances, the greatness of God is proved by the extent of people that He calls in order to be perfected and established in Him, according to the perfection and righteousness of Jesus. Then, when you consider that the power of His calling is sufficient to equip His people to endure the suffering of the calling, with hope and praise in spite of the suffering, the eternal power of that calling becomes even more evident!
Now And Forever
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him [be] the glory both now and forever. Amen.
- 2 Peter 3:18
Our modern culture is fixated on providing experiences that can gratify our immediate desires. We live in an “on-demand” culture. The Bible teaches contrary to this philosophy. We can’t really be satisfied if we try to live for the moment. Our satisfaction comes from the knowledge of God’s grace through Jesus. Since He is eternal in nature, the grace that we learn about is eternal too. The LORD is now, and forever, meaning that He doesn’t change. So, the eternally unchanging grace of God should be sought at all times because it’s so great; and our progressive understanding of Him is what ensures satisfaction now and forever. All that to say, that our chief pursuit in life should be focused on knowing the LORD through Jesus, putting any other priority in life at a distant-second place. The more we learn about Him, the more we understand how this is the proper way to live to gain REAL peace and joy, now AND forever.
Eyewitnesses
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life-- the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us…
- 1 John 1:1-2
The Bible teaches that no one is righteous. Everyone deserves hell. The only way to escape hell is through forgiveness. Forgiveness of sin comes one way – faith in Jesus as the Son of God and Messiah. We must trust that the unchanging God took the form of flesh to manifest His greatness, by paying for the debt of sin on our behalf through Jesus’ crucifixion as God-in-flesh; that the eternal power of God was put on display through Jesus’ resurrection; that, no matter life’s factors, God remains the same, as proved by Jesus. How can we trust these claims? God proved Himself in front of witnesses who confirmed the Word to be consistent and true. These things aren’t made up. Sane and rational men saw and documented the truth, and the testimony of scripture was given to us in order to know what the truth is. History clearly shows how people are imperfect and wrong. History also proves that Jesus is the ONLY One that’s right!
Same Old Story
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

We can’t give what we don’t have. Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life. When He referred to Himself as “the life,” He referred to life consistent with His own nature. The resurrection proved that Jesus’ nature is eternal. So, His quality of life is also eternal. Jesus proved He possesses eternal life. So, He’s qualified to give it. Death itself couldn’t change the greatness of God. So, the manner in which God gives His blessings is the same as it has always been. The way to God in the beginning was by the Word, just as it is now. The truth of God hasn’t changed. The life of God is eternal and unaffected by time, and Jesus proved it. When the Apostle John wrote about the testimony of Jesus as the exclusive source to eternal life through faith, He wasn’t saying anything new, because Jesus has always been God, and God has always been the source of life.
Forever True
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Hebrews 13:8 plainly states that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” The Bible attributes the same eternally unchanging characteristics to Jesus as to the Father, making them One in the same! The Apostle John called Jesus “the Son of God,” which means that Jesus is God in flesh. John was a disciple of Jesus’, and received understanding of this truth as an eyewitness. Just because Jesus came in New Testament times, doesn’t mean He was new to the plan. The progress of time doesn’t change the unchanging God, regardless of His appearance. Eternal life in Jesus, is forever true, because Jesus is forever God! This is the way it's always been. The understanding of this eternal truth, is the essence of eternal life.
What's HIs Name?
His eyes [were] like a flame of fire, and on His head [were] many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He [was] clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
- Revelation 19:12-13
God showed His greatness in the beginning by revealing the power of His Word. He spoke, and the universe was formed and made functional! The power of His Word hasn’t changed, even though the universe was created so long ago. His Word has kept it going the whole time. Jesus will come again into this world in order to judge the sinners who deny His identity, rebel against His eternally unchanging authority, and reject His offer of mercy and forgiveness. In the Book of Revelation, Jesus’ name is called “the Word of God.” The power that God flexed to create the world, is the same power that He will flex to judge the world! The extent of horror that will come from the Father’s wrath, produced through Jesus, will show that the eternal greatness of God’s Word hasn’t changed one bit. Best not to be on the unfavorable side of that demonstration! Repent and believe in the Biblical testimony of Jesus! The Kingdom of heaven is at hand…
