Invaluable Counsel

O LORD, You [are] my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful [things]; [Your] counsels of old [are] faithfulness [and] truth.

Isaiah 25:1

Human wisdom changes over time. We learn new things all the time, showing that our current understanding is often flawed. The good counsel we give today can be bad tomorrow. God doesn’t have this problem. His Word is just as good today as it was when He said, “Let there be light.” Though His counsel is “from old,” His eternal nature ensures that the quality of His Word is unchanging. This is why we should praise God! Who but God is this perfect? Not only is God perfect in the greatness of His wisdom, but it is a privilege that He’s made His Word known to us who have proven to be so flawed.
