The Most High God, Melchizedek, The Goodness Of God, The Transcendence Of God
Melchizedek is not mentioned often in the scriptures, but His appearance to Abraham is a profound moment in history that provided great insight into the ministry He would later fulfill as Jesus Christ. Melchizedek is called the King of Salem – the King of Peace. He is the priest of the Most High; the chief intercessor appointed to receive offerings from people long before the Law of Moses. Melchizedek was the means by which Abraham received God’s blessings. He is the King of God’s righteousness, and His ministry is eternal in nature. Who but Jesus is the Prince of Peace, the Blessing, the Mediator, and the Lord Our Righteousness?
When Jesus Met Abraham
For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated "king of righteousness," and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace…”
