Getting To Know God

The Most High God, Melchizedek, The Goodness Of God, The Transcendence Of God

When the Prophet Jeremiah wrote Lamentations, Israel was suffering exceptional difficulty because of their sin against God. Despite this, Jeremiah continued to trust the Lord. Jeremiah remembered that God’s mercies endure forever. If God’s nature is merciful, and God is exalted above all, who can stop God from being merciful? If all blessings and curses that God speaks come to pass, who can keep God from fulfilling His promises based on the delivery of mercy and compassion? Since God’s mercy is above all things, Jeremiah learned to accept difficulties the Lord causes, trusting the fulfillment of His goodness to be greater in the end!

Goodness Is Greater
Who [is] he [who] speaks and it comes to pass, [when] the Lord has not commanded [it]? [Is it] not from the mouth of the Most High that woe and well-being proceed?
Lamentation 3:37-38
