Getting To Know God
His Name Is...
The Most High God, Melchizedek, The Goodness Of God, The Transcendence Of God
The term “preeminence” refers to the position of first place. God is supposed to be in “first place.” This is what He meant when He said, “You shall have no other gods before Me,” and, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” As people, we needed someone to stand between us and God to worship Him because of the extent of His glory. Melchizedek served that role for Abraham. Now, Melchizedek has a different name as the Messiah – Jesus. Jesus is the means by which we connect. He is the head of our lives, the prototype for our salvation, and for this reason, the most valuable thing in life!
And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
