_ For the last several months, there has been an intense standoff going on in the globe due to the continued progress of Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It is safe to say, that most influential nations with any sort of military strength, do not feel good about the reality of Iran becoming a nuclear power. Therefore, over the tail end of 2011, various nations, including the United States, have been issuing threats and sanctions against Iran in hopes to get them to stop their production. Where this news meets the Bible is in the fact that Iran has been an enemy to the Jews for quite some time. The current Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated several times publically that he wishes to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. The plot thickens in terms of Biblical prophecy. In Ezekiel 38, we are told that Iran will invade Israel along with Turkey, Ethiopia, Sudan, and others, and will be led by Russia. Today, we can see that as some nations take a stance against Iran, these listed nations, for some reason, seem to increase their support of Iran. Even more interesting is that when you study Bible prophecy and understand that the anti-Christ will form a treaty with Israel for a short period of time, one is forced to look at the nations that have reasonable relationships with Israel as possibilities for the anti-Christ to come from. Being that the United States is one of Israel’s only allies in the world at this time, we cannot rule out the possibility that anti-Christ may be American. We’re not saying this is certain, and we don’t even like the possibility, but it is a possibility that the Bible gives nonetheless. In Daniel Ch 11, we see anti-Christ be the leader against this coalition against Israel spoke about in Ezekiel 38.

As you read the article, we can see that the United States is in a position now where we are almost forced to respond with force, and if history teaches us anything, its that when one nation attacks another, usually that nation retaliates. We’re going to see a war soon. Does that mean that Israel will follow in war  - we don’t know? Does that mean that the Ezekiel 38 war is going to happen soon – we can’t say for sure? Does that mean that the anti-Christ is American – who knows? One of the major issues in our world has been the peace attempt between Jews and Palestinians. Both seem to be quick to blame each other on why peace cannot be achieved. However, in Biblical terms, blame is not a matter of relevance. God’s word tells us that He will use this ancient hatred between Jew and Palestinian to glorify Himself. So in prophetic terms, the relationship between Israel and Palestine has been watched very closely because of its significance to other end-times events. As the Bible teaches that the Palestinians will be a part of a major coalition against Israel, Bible students and prophecy buffs have closely studied the current events around the actions of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. His persistent work towards the recognition of Palestine as an independent continues to clash with the freedoms Israel currently possesses as a sovereign nation. Becoming an independent nation is one thing, but taking the land and capital of someone else to do it, is another thing. President Abbas’ stipulations to his request have been that the capital of the newly created Palestine will be Jerusalem. His tactics for achieving this goal have been very successful so far. Early in September of this year, Abbas applied for the Palestinian Authority to be a member of the United Nations and in such, they would be recognized as an independent nation. Well, today, the Palestinians have gained great ground in their attempts to snatch up Jewish soil and have managed to successfully side step negotiations with Israel or any mediator to accomplish their goal. Today, Yahoo.com reported that UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) had become the first U.N. agency to welcome the Palestinians with full membership. Out of 185 nations, the Palestinians received 105 votes in favor of this action. Only 14 nations voted against it, which included the United States, Canada, Germany, and Holland. However, nations such as Brazil, Russia, China, India, South Africa, and France voted for the Palestinians, while Britain and Italy did not vote.

This action will prove to be a very significant action in our future history. As UNESCO has essentially set a precedent, we also see the overwhelming support for Palestinian sovereignty considering President Abbas’ criteria and demands. This vote presents compelling evidence that the U.N. will likely be in favor of recognizing the Palestinian Authority as a full member as an independent nation. In doing such, the U.N. may recognize boarders that were once in effect prior to 1967, which included Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital. As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated several times publically, he is prepared to engage in warfare to protect the sovereignty of his nation. Therefore we can see the makings for a great war coming soon; but we shouldn’t be surprised – God prophesied about it 3,500 years ago. “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift your heads; for your redemption draws nigh…” (Luke 21:28)

As the talks about our progressively failing global economy increase in volume, it was only a matter of time until the Vatican spoke on the matter. Well, the powers-that-be in the Vatican have recently made some statements that clearly paint the position of the Catholic church in terms of economic unification. The Book of Revelation tells us that a tool of the anti-Christ will be a global economic system in which all people of the world will use a universal system to buy, sell and trade. While we do not see the existence of this system in place today, because of the growing global economic challenges, we are seeing more globally-influential organizations and countries speak about a universally uniform economic system as a solution. Now we see the Vatican speak in favor of this system spoke about in end-times prophecy. While the Vatican is not currently making statements that suggest they will support the anti-Christ, we do see that some of their representatives are suggesting Wall Street and other world banking institutions seriously consider merging their systems quickly to alleviate the financial pain and serve the best interests of the world’s people.

Events in, and surrounding Israel, are often the subjects of many headlines in today’s news. The Middle East is a volatile place. There’s a lot of angry people in that part of the world, and many of them are angry with the Jews. It’s a crazy thing to imagine that the entire world would come against a tiny nation like Israel, but today’s headlines prove that Israel’s global position is a fragile one. It is no secret that Israel and Iran are not friendly with one another. Iran (referred to as Persia in the Bible) has been threatening murderous actions against Israel for quite some years and as they get closer to being a nuclear equipped people, Israel is getting closer to a militaristic response. This is a problem for the rest of the world and has caught the attention of our nation and others. You know when you consider the Bible and some of the claims that it makes concerning our prophetic future, many of them seem to be pretty crazy and in some cases unbelievable. For example, until the invention of YouTube on the internet, and live streaming online, and satellite television, the idea of the entire world being able to witness Jesus’ second coming must have seemed pretty ridiculous. Well, another one of those “old Bible tales” that seems to be getting closer to fulfillment. In Revelation 13:16 we are introduced to a concept that is often sensationalized by Hollywood and misinformed religious groups and such. This “mark” will be given to those people who worship the false prophet during the tribulation times. People will be required to have this “mark” in order to buy, sell and trade during the tribulation. When you think of this “mark” it’s easy to speculate, “How is this possible to get ‘everyone’ able to accept this mark?” Well an interesting article came out today that shows the world economic system is very interested in discovering how they can get the world to be comfortable with a “mark” of some kind for the purpose of identification protection and commerce. Today, millions upon millions of dollars are being spent so that researches can discover how to prepare the world public for it’s new phase of social and economic interaction.

Today there was an article released stating the true intentions of the Palestinian Authority in regards to their bid to receive recognition as a sovereign nation from the UN. Since the bid for independent statehood was submitted 2 weeks ago, there has been clamor in regards to what the true intention of the Palestinian Authority. Well, as the event gets more and more public recognition, more of the truth is revealed. The following article reveals that the Palestinians have no desire to build a joint state of Jews & Palestinians living in peace. Rather, they aim to redraw boarder lines in which Jerusalem would be the capital the Palestinians - not the Jews. Now in Genesis Chapter 12, God made 3 promises to Abraham: the promise that the Jews would be a great and powerful nation, the promise that the Jews would receive the land that God defined (which includes Jerusalem), and the promise that the Messiah would come from the seed of Abraham. The Palestinians are attempting to mess with the promises of God. This is prophetically spoken of in the Bible and as the Bible teaches, this will lead to war which may start off The Day of the Lord.
